Going Royal

Enough is enough, we've been here for 3 weeks now and we needed to do some sight seeing. We decided that we needed to make it official that we were in a land of a royal presence by going to see "the queen's house", the "marching band" and "the carriages like Cinderella". So we....

Headed to Buckingham Palace:

Front Gate

The Victoria Memorial

Our Dream Home

Saw the Guards Band march in for the changing of the guards:
( Avery watching the band in her scooter-helmet)

A few pics of changing of guards ceremony. Avery got to see a little from my shoulders, but these pictures are me sticking my camera up in the air to hope to get a decent shot ( which I obviously did a lousy job at)

Then finished our Royal morning by heading to the Royal Garage, the Royal Mews, to see some carriages and Rolls Royce:

The Mews house

A Royal Carriage... there were about 10 on display, all with different origins and meanings, but they all looked the same to us
The Mews had a great 'kids break' room that allowed us to have the girls sit down, do some coloring of their own fair-tale dream carriages and unwind a little
The Gold State Coach used for coronations and extra-special royal events ( Avery got really close to this one, as she ducked under the velvet fence to get a close up)
A Royal Rolls Royce limosine.. Not sure if this was Kate Middleton's ride to her wedding...but very similar and very impressive.... they have raised the ceiling on the limo so the Queen can stand inside of the car!)

After a great touristy-trip, we headed home to our flat a little more educated about the monarchy, and very jealous of the luxuries.
